What is map runner?

map runner is a collection of runner's route, routes created by you and other map runners. map runner is a site built by runners for runners, not in the hope of furthering a brand, but with the goal of solving the problem of 'where shall I go for a run today?'. We saw the oppurtunity to use web technologies to save our own running routes. Then we thought 'why not allow others to use our site, better still, why not allow them to completely control the content of the site and rate & share their runs'. This way we all benefit from each others input - we'll all be able to find new runs in our area.

With map runner you can:

• Share - create your run route, assign it a difficulty rating, a safety rating and tags and your run will become available to all runners using map runner. You can email your runs to your friends & watch as other runners rate them.
• Find - using either our postcode search or tag search you can locate runs in your area which match your requirements
• Save - when you sign up to map runner you will create a unique map runner profile where you can view and organise your runs. Personalise your profile with your own image and about me text.

What can I use map runner for?

Ultimately you decide how to use map runner but here are examples of things you can do when you save your runs on map runner:

• Collaborate - friends and running groups can use a shared account to collect and organise runs
• Challenge - think you've got what it takes to run some of the countries most challenging routes? Why not browse our list of featured runs, like the London Marathon, or others in your area and give them a go.
• Compete - got a competitive streak? Why not save your favourite run, time yourself as you run it then send your route to a friend to see if they can beat you?
• Arrange - got a group of people you like to run with? Use map runner to discuss and organise your weekly group run.
